How it all started ...

It all started on a Sunny afternoon in 2008 at a Hong Kong café in Shanghai where 4 fellow expats from the games industry sat down to talk about everything. The topic of Facebook and social games came up and became the main highlight of that afternoon. To everyone surprise all 4 guys actually believe that Facebook is also a very good publishing platform for hard core MMO games especially web-based MMORPG.

Months later EURO WEBSOFT was founded to kick-start development of a Flash-based MMORPG game to be operated on Facebook. That 1st game was “LITTLE BIG SOLDIER” MMO based on Jackie Chan blockbuster movie ‘Little Big Soldier’ starring Jackie and LeeHom Wang. The game took a life on Facebook in Taiwan as the first test market. The game stayed alive on its own for 18 months and gathered about 170 000 players without spending any money on marketing. EURO WEBSOFT considered ‘Little Big Soldier’ to be their 1st failed game even though the game revenues managed to maintain itself.

It was because of ‘Little Big Soldier’ and the learning from it that the founders knew they would need 2 very different skills set and dedicated teams to succeed in Facebook especially if they wanted to carve a new niche’ in Facebook already booming social games space. It was then in 2010 the founders founded FBMMO aka *Facebookmmo.com to specialize in operating hardcore MMO games on Facebook. The founders knew they have to grasp and understand the mechanics, metrics and methods to get users on Facebook to play hard core MMO games. So the strategy for the future was set in motion:

1.) EURO WEBSOFT – will continue to design, understand and develop web-based MMO games specifically for Facebook. Build and enlarge the studio so that the company can become a mega games development center that can pump sufficient in-house games out.
While …..

2.) FACEBOOKMMO.com – will launch other web-based MMO on Facebook to gather the know-how, methods and acquire the special operational capability needed for hard core games publishing on Facebook.
